Remote Sensing Engineer_Aerospace

We are looking for a Remote Sensing engineer to join an agile and innovative team of multidisciplinary consultants working for our client, the European Space Agency.

As a member of this team you will provide Scientific and Engineering support to the EOP-SD and Phi-Lab Divisions of ESA/ESRIN.

You will be exposed to leading technologies in Earth Observation from Space, continuously developing and maintaining your own expertise. You will also be in direct contact with European Industry and be involved in the International Cooperation context.

Your tasks will include:

• Review and technical evaluation of proposals and project deliverables
• Discuss project goals, requirements or methodologies with colleagues or team members
• Provision of technical specifications and inputs for new research and application projects
• Follow up of daily activities on research and application projects in the EOP-SD and Phi-lab divisions
• Implementation of technical actions on ESA
• Validation of technical capabilities
• Technical support to ESA-organised events and demonstrations
• Provision of technical inputs for contributions to conferences, workshops and communications
• Technical support in liaison with external bodies (eg GEO, CEOS, OGC..)

Required Skills and Experience:

• Master degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline (e.g. remote sensing, geo-informatics, telecommunications, physics)
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Team-player, proactive, autonomous and with problem solving attitude
• Experience in writing scientific and technical documentation, and in delivering technical presentations

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• 5 years of experience in remote sensing
• Experience with programming and technical applications
• Development of retrieval algorithms and validation approaches for new products/EO applications
• Knowledge of European Infrastructures (DIAS, exploitation platforms…)
• Technical requirements specification, validation and verification of Software systems
• Use of machine learning applied to Remote Sensing
